Building Services (MEP)
- Production of co-ordinated 3D Models for Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health and to assist in the development of 3D, CADMEP (Cadduct) and Revit MEP
- Assist in BIM co-ordination meetings along with the BIM or Design Manager and undertake activities such as 'live' walkthroughs, clash detection, problem solving, co-ordination or spatial issues and occasional site surveys
- Assist and be aware of incoming/outgoing data models & documents to ensure that all changes are identified and the accuracy of drawings/models held on file are updated & maintained whilst also ensuring that data is issued in the correct formats following the right procedures
- Work to a high standard of accuracy and quality
- Be aware and adopt principles held in the BEP (BIM Execution Plan) throughout the working life of the project
- Work within and follow the processes, workflows and procedures for successful information exchange on project work
- Produce project outputs such as data drops
- Ensuring timely delivery ensuring programme dates & deadlines are met
- Work within an established common data environment where necessary or applicable and interface with all relevant parties
- Advise on modelling best practice. Mentor and educate where needed and necessary
- Validate model compliance against BEP, RIBA stages and agreed data drops
- Model coordination and interrogation, ensure models work together (federate as necessary), maintain master model, ensure information remains interoperable, clash detection, quality checks, data conversion
- Connect BIM to office and site activities, be instrumental in its adoption and promotion
- Identify, capture, export and report key data from working models
- Creating visuals from models for team use or to proactively highlight issues
- Create Mechanical and Electrical layout 2D CAD drawings from sketch & plan drawing schemes, carrying out amendments to all stages of drawings whilst working to current CAD standards and regulations
- Liaise with Electrical, Mechanical & Public Health Engineers and respective Project Managers
OIl & Gas
- Managing a team of developing CAD technicians and contract staff.
- Liaising with other departments towards contract targets and overall business needs.
- Representing the drawing office/ company in meetings/ conference calls with clients and keeping contract managers up to speed on progress.
- Managing the team’s performance, day to day management issues such as sickness and annual leave whilst managing any performance issues.
- Checking documents and drawings for errors. Preparation of piping and instrument diagram, schematics, flow diagram using SmartPlant/ Autocad.
- Administrator for SmartPlant which involves the creation and responsibility for line lists, valve lists equipment lists and symbol creation.
- Designing and maintaining the KPI spreadsheet which feeds into the appraisal and productivity figures but also ensures that the Q&A targets are being met outlined in the ISO9001 accreditation.
